At the beginning of this year, the Italian government made e-invoicing mandatory for all suppliers with an Italian VAT number. Six months later, Italy is once again at the forefront of digitisation. As of 1 October 2019, companies supplying the Italian National Health Service (SSN) will have to manage the reception of e-orders through the governmental platform Nodo Smistamento Ordini (NSO).
