Will your business be fully compliant by the 2026 deadline?

B2G (business-to-government) e-invoicing has been mandatory since 2017, and soon, the same will be required of all B2B (business-to-business) transactions as well.

In December 2019, the French government passed Art. 153 of France’s Finance Law 2020, making e-invoicing mandatory for all domestic B2B transactions. However, the application of the mandate — initially scheduled to start in July 2024 — has since been postponed.

The new implementation schedule is as follows: Starting on January 1, 2026, through September 1, 2026, all business entities will be required to accept e-invoices according to a schedule and terms set by decree depending on company size and sector of activity.
