Payroll & Human Resource Specialist

Esker Inc. is an international software developer and recognized leader in helping companies eliminate paper and improve business processes such as invoicing and order processing with document automation software and services.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dependable individual to join our Accounting and Human Resource teams in Middleton, WI as a Payroll & Human Resource Specialist.  This position will be responsible for processing payroll in accordance with wage and tax guidelines, fully utilizing our payroll and HCM system, and various other payroll and human resources tasks.  This position will report to the Assistant Controller while working closely with both the Human Resource and Accounting departments.  The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.

Requirements

Payroll

  • Process multi-state semi-monthly payroll
  • Maintain time and attendance, payroll, and benefits system
  • Validate new hire entry and benefit processing changes
  • Resolve discrepancies with benefit carriers
  • Prepare W-2s, 1095-Cs, and other year-end reporting
  • Coordinate annual benefit open enrollment
  • Administer Service Anniversary Award program and Wellness Benefit program
  • Perform administrative functions related to FMLA leaves and COBRA administration
  • Assist with administration of employee personnel data and status change forms
  • Handle Verification of Employment requests and Unemployment correspondence
  • Assist in 401(k) audit, as necessary
  • Complete annual 401(k) mailings to participants
  • Assist with other general duties in the accounting department, as assigned

Human Resources

  • Assist in coordinating company employee events
  • Assist the Recruiter with the full recruiting life cycles across a variety of open roles, as needed
  • Ensure job descriptions are up to date
  • Assist with other general duties in the human resources department, as assigned

Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • Associates degree - business or similar emphasis
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred
  • Two to five years of related experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
